Cochin Shipyard Limited (CLS) has delivered a passenger-cum-cargo vessel built by it for the Andaman and Nicobar administration.
The vessel has a capacity to carry 500 passengers and 150 metric tonnes of cargo. The ship will operate mainly between the islands in Andaman and Nicobar. The basic design of the vessels was developed by the naval architects of Knud E Hansen of Denmark in collaboration with M/s Smart Engineering and Design Solution based in Kochi.
The handing over ceremony of Vessel Nalanda was held on board at the Cochin Shipyard Limted.
